BARCELONA LOANEE SCORES ON DEBUT

Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho made an instant impact for new club Aston Villa after he came off the bench to win a point for the former European champions during their home game against Manchester United in the Premier League.

Coutinho is a Barcelona loanee after joining Aston Villa on loan from the Catalan giants until the end of the season. His loan deal from Barcelona was finalised at the start of last week. Villa have the option to make his loan deal a permanent one at the end of his loan spell at the club. By the time he finishes his Villa loan, Coutinho will have just one year left on his Barcelona contract.

BARCELONA INITIATE CONTACT FOR MORATA

Spanish La Liga side Barcelona have reportedly initiate contact in their bid to sign Juventus striker Alvaro Morata in the January transfer window which starts later this week. The contact initiated by Barcelona was confirmed by popular English publication Goal. It was disclosed that the Catalan giants have approached the player’s entourage over a loan move to the Nou Camp and that the club won’t mind offering Dutchman Memphis Depay to Juventus as a sweetener for the Morata deal.

Morata is at Juventus for the second time after joining them on loan from Spanish champions Atletico Madrid in September 2020. He has struggled for goals at Juventus in recent weeks and a move back to Spain could be what’s needed for him to get back to form. The 29-year-old has seven goals and three assists in 23 games in all competitions for the Old Lady this season.

KEY FORWARD RULED OUT FOR BAYERN

Barcelona have been slammed with a big blow ahead of the all-important Champions League clash with Bayern Munich next week after it was revealed that key forward AnsuFati won’t be available for the game. It had earlier been reported that the young Spanish international could return from injury to take his place in the Barcelona squad for the crucial away game against the Bavarian giants even if he’s not completely fit.

Fati, 18, has been out of action for some weeks as a result of the hamstring injury that he picked up during the Celta Vigo clash in the Spanish La Liga. The Spaniard was a major casualty from the game which ended in a 3-3 draw after hosts Celta Vigo came from three goals down to secure a point.

BARCELONA COULD BENEFIT FROM KESSIE DEAL

Catalan newspaper Sport has stated that Barcelona could be benefit from a deal for Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie. The report from the aforementioned media outlet stated that Barcelona target Tanguy Ndombelewould be available for a transfer if North London side Tottenham Hotspur manage to sign Kessie on a free transfer.

AC Milan star Kessie will most likely leave the Italian club on a free transfer next summer with the Rossoneri struggling to convince the player to sign a new contract at the club.

Barcelona legend Andreas Iniesta has revealed his starting XI for the El Clasico clash with Real Madrid in the Spanish league this weekend.Iniesta picked his team for the Madrid game at home on Sunday via his official Twitter account.

Vissel Kobe midfielder Iniesta came through the Barcelona Academy before he spent many years in the first team.He was the Barcelona skipper until his exit three years ago. XAVI BACKED FOR BARCELONA JOB

Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta is confident that Xavi Hernandez is prepared for the managerial job at the Catalan club. Iniesta threw his weight behind Xavi for the Barcelona managerial job in an exclusive interview with Catalan newspaper SPORT. Iniesta believes that Xavi is ready for the job with current boss Ronald Koeman under pressure to perform.

BARCELONA SEEM UNLIKELY TO SIGN NIGUEZ THIS SUMMER

As the next few days reveal the final few days of the summer transfer window, it continues to look very much unlikely that Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona will make a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

The Spain international midfielder is said to be unsettled at the Rojiblancos and could be making the move this summer but despite being strongly linked with a move to some clubs in the English Premier League and Barcelona, he looks set to now stay with Diego Simeone’s side beyond this summer and may then make the move probably in the winter transfer window or maybe in the next summer. AGÜERO SIDELINED FOR TEN WEEKS AS A RESULT OF INJURY

In what will come as more unwanted news for Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona, star striker Sergio Agüero has been ruled out of the start of the season after picking up a serious ankle injury that will see him miss as many as ten weeks of action. It’s the latest update coming from the Camp Nou even though it is not strong enough to eclipse the fact that Lionel Messi has officially left the club and signed for French Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain. Messi’s departure from Barcelona was reported last week and since then there were talks that he could be moving to France to sign for Paris Saint-Germain. However, they are no longer rumors as it is now official.

It’s not the way Barca would have wanted their summer to go as they will now have to start the new season without Messi as their player (for the first time in 21 years) while also not being able to use the services of Agüero. The Argentina international striker joined Barca after leaving Manchester City as a free agent this summer but he will have to wait for another couple of weeks before making his La Liga debut for the Catalan giants.

BARCELONA STRIKER ATTRACTING SERIE A INTEREST

Barcelona striker Rey Manaj is attracting interest from the Italian Serie A after he bagged a treble in a recently friendly match. The 24-year-old Albania striker scored three goals in the second half to lead the Catalan giants to a thumping victory over Nastic.

Manaj is not in the immediate plans of Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman ahead of the new season, but he’s attracting interest from elsewhere. MundoDeportivo journalist Ferran Martinez stated that Italian Serie A team Sassuolo are one of many clubs watching how his situation unfolds at the Nou Camp on the back of his impressive outing against Nastic in the friendly game played earlier this month.

BARCELONA LOOKING TO OFFLOAD BRAITHWAITE IN THE SUMMER

Barcelona are currently in a huge mess and have been trying to come out of their current financial situation by lining up a couple of players that they want to offload this summer. There are a couple of players in the squad that have been reported to be earning huge figures at the Camp Nou and that has had a huge toll on the club’s wage structure, causing them to overpay wages to players in recent years. Club captain Lionel Messi had to agree to a 50% salary slash to accept a new five-year contract extension at the club and it is also a result of the club’s current financial problem.

Barca are already looking to get rid of Antoine Griezmann and have been trying to hasten the process following the signing of Sergio Agüero and Memphis Depay this summer. However, after offering the France international star to clubs in England including Chelsea and Manchester City, the Catalan giants have still not yet found a way to sell Griezmann. There is a possible way to let go of the Frenchman though, as reports have claimed that Barca are in talks with fellow La Liga club Atletico Madrid for a swap deal that would see Griezmann return to the Metropolitano stadium while Saul Niguez would move the other way.
