Carles Tusquets comments on Messi ill-advised, saysKoeman

 

Barcelona have had a lot of turmoil on and off the field. The latest comments by acting president Carles Tusquets does not help matters, according to Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman.Tusquets recently appeared to suggest that Barcelona have made a huge profit by selling Lionel Messi in December. He appeared to suggest that this would have been a desirable solution for the club considering that the superstar could leave for free in the upcoming summer. These comments have not gone well with many at Barcelona – including the coach. It has been a very difficult period for the club, who have gone through terrible results and financial problems.

Most of the issues have been created surrounding the future of Messi, who continues to have a major influence on the club. The Argentine superstar was reported to be on the verge of leaving the Camp Nou – for the first time in his career – back in the summer when he had a release clause. UNITED BLOW IN DEMBELE CHASE

 

Manchester United were one of the clubs strongly linked with a loan move for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele. The Frenchman was considered by Red Devils officials as a short-term replacement for number one target Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund.


The Red Devils had turned their attention to a loan transfer for Dembele in the summer after it became clear that they won’t be able to lure England international Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. Dembele opted against any loan move to interested clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool and others as he opted to fight for his future at the Nou Camp.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has heaped praises on the team for their effort in beating Barcelona at home in the El Clasico. The French manager is elated that the team was able to rise to the occasion against their archrivals Barcelona in the La Liga.

RECORD-BREAKING MESSI CONTINUES

Lionel Messi was on hand to break another record in the 20/21 Champions League opener against Ferencváros. FC Barcelona thrashed the Hungarian side 5-1 at the Camp Nou, and Messi (as ever) was at the heart of the drubbing.

Gerard Pique offers to quit Barcelona after 8-2 thrashing by Bayern Munich

 

Spanish defender Gerard Pique has offered to quit Barcelona following the club’s European humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich. The Blaugrana had got into the recent quarter-final against Bayern as slight underdogs, but no one expected them to be truly outclassed across all departments on the night.


The club suffered one of their most embarrassing defeats in history as they were beaten 8-2 in the one-legged tie and that is likely to pave the way for the dismissal of manager Quique Setien. Meanwhile, a number of players could also face the axe following the outcome and Pique has said that he would be prepared to move on for a young centre-back to replace him.

Olsen Backs Ziyech Success

Former Ajax star Jesper Olsen has backed Hakim Ziyech to prove a successful signing for Premier League side Chelsea. The Morocco international signed for the Blues from the Dutch champions in February this year and he has recently integrated into first-team training alongside his new teammates.

In an interview covered by Goal.com, Olsen said that he has no doubts over the ability of Ziyech and backed him to be a success with the west London giants. Messi Keen on Reunion WithPep Guardiola, says Rivaldo

 

Former Brazilian footballer Rivaldo has said that Messi will be hoping to have a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City,as there has been speculation that he would be leaving the club. Spanish outlet Cadena SER has reported this week that Messi will be not signing an extension with the club and will be leaving on 2021 after his contract expires. Even though the news of the Argentinian leaving the club seem unlikely if such a situation arises there will be many clubs that would want to sign him up.


Manchester City has been linked with Messi in the past years and Rivaldo believes that he can easily make a move to the Premier League club. He also added that if Messi had wanted to leave the club there must be something wrong in the dressing room or he must be fed up of the problems that have been linked with Barca for the past few months.
