Mbappe wants Neymar to stay with PSG amid Barcelona return talk

Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe has said that Neymar remains an important figure with the club’s ranks and he wants him to stay put beyond the summer. The Brazil international has been heavily touted to make a comeback with Barcelona and reports have emerged that the Spanish champions will lodge an approach to re-sign him during the closing stages of the transfer window.

Speaking to reporters, Mbappe said that he has a good relationship with Neymar on and off the playing field and he would prefer to work with the Brazilian for the forthcoming campaign rather than watching him part ways with the club, he told: “We all know the importance of this player after he leaves. He knows what I think of him and he knows what I think of his situation. Of course, I don’t want him to leave, I want him to stay. We have a relationship based on honesty and respect. I respect him and I admire him a lot, I told him what I thought of his situation and everything is fine.”

Mazinho – Rafinha could part ways with Barcelona in January

Rafinha’s father Mazinho has suggested that the Brazilian could make way from Barcelona when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year. The 25-year-old has recently been in the Blaugrana mix, having been involved in three of the club’s previous five league matches but there remain genuine concerns regarding the gametime with the Catalan giants.

Speaking to Radio Galicia Sport, Mazinho highlighted that his son is far from pleased with the current situation with the Spanish champions and an exit could be on the cards when the transfer window reopens in less than 45 days’ time, he said: “It’s crazy, he can’t understand anything. Only the coach knows what he has or doesn’t have. The truth is that we’re trying to get Rafa into a situation where he plays regularly. We have to look for an exit because it’s really complicated for him here [at Barcelona]. It’s been basically two years hardly playing and he needs a club to give him 30 or 40 games a season.”

Abidal said the club looked at the player and confirmed he had “the Barcelona profile” before moving in to sign him. The director said the player’s qualities differentiated him especially as he was good on both wings despite being left footed. Malcom can also play in attacking midfield role, bringing in youth, versatility and talent.
